Comparison
Localkept and Hibu, compared
Both build websites for local businesses so the owner doesn’t have to. They’re different products, though: Hibu sells a marketing platform with ads and other services as add-ons, and Localkept sells a website kept up for you at a flat monthly price, with your Google listing looked after on the $150 plan. Here’s how they compare, using only what each company publishes.
Side by side
| Topic | Localkept | Hibu |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | A website designed, written, hosted and kept up for you, one business mailbox, changes whenever you ask, and your Google reviews shown live. Add your Google Business Profile kept current for $150. | A subscription called Hibu One, which includes a “Smart Site” website built and maintained for you, listings management, review tools, lead tracking, and email and text marketing. Managed search, display and social ads come with Hibu’s higher plans or as add-ons with additional monthly fees. |
| Price | $99 a month, or $150 a month with your Google Business Profile. | Custom: each plan is quoted for your goals, market and budget. Monthly prices aren’t published. |
| Setup fee | None. | A non-refundable implementation fee of $299. |
| Contract | Month to month. Stop whenever you like, with no fee to leave. | A six-month minimum term, then month to month. Hibu’s pricing page says contract terms “typically range from 6 to 12 months”, depending on the plan. |
| If you leave | Your site stays up until the end of the month you’ve paid for, and your domain and a copy of your site are yours to keep. | Cancel by phone at least 15 days before the end of the minimum term or of the current month, or another month is billed, with no refund on cancellation. A domain Hibu provides is registered to Hibu, which will help transfer it to you if you ask. |
| Seeing it first | We build your site before we ask for anything, and you look at it at a private link. | Hibu offers a demo of its platform. |
Hibu’s column is from hibu.com and Hibu’s customer terms, checked October 19, 2026. Hibu’s prices and terms can change, and a quote from Hibu is the place to confirm them. Localkept’s column is from our pricing and terms.
When Hibu may suit you better
If you want paid advertising run for you, on Google, Facebook or elsewhere, or local ranking work and email and text marketing, Hibu sells those, several as add-ons, and Localkept doesn’t. We build and run your website and, on the $150 plan, keep your Google Business Profile current. We don’t buy ads, and we don’t promise rankings or leads.
When Localkept may suit you better
If what you need is a good website that stays current, with a price you know before you start, no setup fee and no contract to wait out, that’s what we’re built for. You see your site before you pay anything, you ask for changes by text, email or your owner portal, and if you stop, your domain and a copy of your site go with you.
Questions
Can I move from Hibu to Localkept?
Your current contract with Hibu sets when you can leave, so check its terms first. If Hibu provided your domain, it’s registered to Hibu, and its terms say it will help transfer it to you. Once the domain is yours, your Localkept site can go live on it, or on a new one, and it stays yours.
Do you do ads or SEO like Hibu?
No. We build the site, host it, keep it current and make changes you ask for. We don’t run ad campaigns, and we don’t promise search rankings, calls or leads.
Is this a review of Hibu?
No. We haven’t used Hibu, so we compare only what each company says about itself. For other customers’ experiences, read reviews on independent sites.
